Set of Note Cards

Today's post features a versitile set of 3 inch note cards.  Just add a quick note to the interior and it becomes a birthday greeting to attach to a gift bag or jot down a word of encouragement and hide it in your child's lunchbox to offer a small mid-day surprise.

Another Thanksgiving Card

I know it's still early October, but I just love the So Grateful Stamp set, so I made this card. It is simple and quick and fun to make.

Eek! Layout

This was such a fun layout.  And, yes, I'm working on pictures from almost 2 years ago...I'm just shy of 2 years behind on my scrapbooking!  However, I don't let being behind keep me from enjoying the process.   Scrapbooking is fun and I enjoy it without stressing about being behind.  However, I do try and keep my journalling up-to-date, otherwise, I risk forgeting many of the details.

I started with a sheet of Slate card stock for my base and then cut the banner image (Key #47 Shift F1 on the Cricut Artiste Cartridge) at a height of 11 inches and a width of 4.5 inches.  I used my Gypsy to unlink the height and width and I'm sure this same effect can be achieved using the design software in the Cricut Craft Room.  For this cut I used one of the pattern papers from the Moonlight Paper Pack.

I then cut "Eek!" (Key #47 on Cricut Artiste) from Slate card stock at a width of 3.75 inches, but I was not happy with the level of contrast that the slate had on the pattern paper.  So, I cut it again using Autumn Terracotta card stock and layered the two cuts, putting the slate on the bottom, to give added dimension and then adhered it to the Moonlight banner along with the 2 pictures.

I cut the Tag (Key #35 F3 on Cricut Art Philosophy) at a height of 2.75 inches from Autumn Terracotta card stock and then printed my journalling directly onto it.  I used the Olive Exclusive Ink and a sponge dauber to color a 10 inch strip of Color Ready Seam Binding.  I then threaded it through my journalling box and attached it to my layout, along with the three additional pictures.

I stamped the pumpkin base from the So Grateful stamp set on a scrap of Colonial White card stock using Goldrush Exclusive Ink and cut it out.  I cut the Jack-o-lantern face (Key #47 F3 on Cricut Artiste Cartridge) at 1.5 inches high from Slate card stock and glued it to my pumpkin.  I used Olive Exclusive Ink to stamp my leaf and Chocolate Exclusive Ink to stamp my stem, cut both of them out and glued them to my pumpkin.  I then glued my assembled pumpkin to my layout and finished this page my stamping the vine swirl directly onto the slate cardstock using Chocolate Exclusive Ink.

Clearly the Best: Dauber Dynamite

This is a very fun technique for getting multiple colors on your stamp images.  I thought I'd share it.  Enjoy!

Fun Tag Bookmark

This one was just for fun...a simple but very pretty bookmark.

I started by cutting a tag from Indian Corn card stock using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge (the shift Tag Function of Key #4- the one with the dragonfly.) I did use my Gypsy to keep the dragon fly from cutting out because I wanted a solid tag.  This step could be accomplished using the online software accessible in the Cricut Craft Room.

I used the faux stitching technique that I described in my Avonlea Card #3 post to "stitch" a sixth of an inch inside the edge of the tag.  I then stamped the butterfly image and the flower image from Card Word Puzzle Stamp Set using StazOn Black Ink.  I cleaned the stamps and then used the Versa Mark stamp pad to stamp over the original image.  I then sprinkled it with Clear Embossing Powder, shook off the excess and set it with a craft heater.  I free handed the dashed line using an acid free black fine point pen.  I then curved the word "beautiful" from Card Word Puzzle stamp set along the dashed line and stamped it.  The final step was to add fiber to the tag, which was just some yarn left over from a knitting project.  Simple, fun and practical....what more could you ask for in a project?

Happy Thanksgiving Card

We've already had a couple of days that had a hint of fall in the air and I'm so excited about the eminent arrival of fall.  It is my absolutely, hands down favorite time of the year.  Not too hot, not too cold, just perfect and I love it!

I also love the fall colors and CTMH has so many beautiful colors to help me celebrate my love of this time of year in both my scrapbooking and my card making.  Today, I'm sharing a card I made to give to my Grandmother for Thanksgiving.  I love it and I'm sure she will, too.

I cut two rectangles measuring 2 3/4 by 4 1/4 inches, one from Olive cardstock and one from Autumn Terracotta cardstock.  I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the Olive cardstock with the "Script" embossing folder and used Slate and a sponge dauber to ink the edges of these two pieces.  I then adhered them  to my card base.

I used a scrap piece of Colonial White cardstock and cut it to 2 by 3 1/4 inches and then inked the edges of it using Slate again.  I also used a small scrap of Daisy White cardstock and stamped the pumpkin from So Grateful stamp set using Goldrush and then cut it out.  I used Desert Sand to stamp the Script overlay, Olive for the leaf and Chocolate for the stem.  I cut the leaf and stem out and glued them onto my pumpkin and then glued the pumpkin to my Colonial White card stock rectangle.  I then used the 3-D Foam Tape to attach it to my card base and the final touch was to stamp "happy Thanksgiving" using Chocolate . For the word "happy" I used a mask so that only the word happy would be stamped onto my card and used the "so happy together" sentiment from the Avonlea WOTG Scrapbooking Kit stamp set.  The word "Thanksgiving" was from the So Grateful stamp set.
